Buggy Stonefly Nymph
Material List :
Deer Creek Micro Velvet Rope
SLF Dubbing - brown and white
Turkey Biot
Goose Biot
Pheasant Tail fibers
Mono eye
Curve Nymph hook size 10 and 8
Lead wire and Micropore tape
Step by step tying instructions:
Wind in some lead wire
Secure the lead wire..Tie in a second thread ( I use chart color for this tutorial for the tutorial visual purpose )
Tie in the DC Micro Velvet Rope
Use micropore tape to create the taper body
Flatten the body
Tie down the tape
Tie in a pair of Goose Biot as tail
Wind in the Micro Velvet Rope
Color the top with marker
Dub in some dubbing to second thread
Wind in the dubbing thread
Tie in the Pheasant Tail fibers
Prepare the Knot Turket Biot legs
Tie in the 1st pair of biot leg
Wind in some dubbing
Fold over the Pheasant Tail Fiber ( thorax )
Fold the fiber back and tie down, then tie in the 2nd pair of leg
Repeat the above step, wind in dubbing and fold the fiber over again for the 3rd pair of leg
Tie in the mono eye
Wind in some dubbing at the mono eye and fold over the fiber to create the head profile, but keep 2 of the fiber as the anthenna
Trim the extra fiber and whip finish
Trim the thread
Brush out some dubbing
Fold the tip of the leg and fix it with some Diamond flex fine
The nymph is ready

ReplyDeleteI knots the boot with tweezers ... I think it's just a matter of getting use to it.. So far I haven't seen any tools that can do that easier than that.
