Fighting Crab
Materials List:
Egg Yarn - White, Tan or olive
Gamakatsu SL12S size 2 or 1
Bead Chain or dumbell
Deer Creek Micro Velvet Rope for pincer
ICE Dubbing in burn orange
Sililegs
Diamond UV resin
Glassy eye
Mono line 60lbs
Step by step tying instructions:
Prepare the thread base and tie in the bead chain
Tie in some ICE dubbing
Tie in a pair of Glassy eye
Wind in some dubbing after the eye
Tie in the pincer just right after the dubbing
Tie in the mono line
Tie in the legs
Tie in the rest of the legs
Tie in some Egg Yarn at the middle of the hook
Trim the yarn
drop some Diamond UV resin to position the legs
Dry the resin with UV light
Fold over the balance of the mono line from the eye to form the guard
Trim the mono and the crab is ready for some coloring

ReplyDeleteI don’t get how u tie the body in with the yarn, I had a hard time, help!!!
ReplyDeleteScott, if the yarn is like Mcfly foam, think deer hair. Take a stack of yarn/mcflyfoam. Place it on top of the hookshank, two / three loose wraps and tighten. Should do the trick. A few more wraps to secure it. Took me a few tries too. You'll crack it!
