'HiddenBell' tied with Synthetic Fur and narural Fur

Was tying the Zonker streamer and moving into a bigger streamer pattern for my trip to Mongolia next month... i need a streamer pattern that will swim well, lots of movement, light and very importantly sink fast and still have a very prominent eye profile.
2 option that I have, either put in a lot of lead wire or add in a weight on the hook, so this is what happen when I have a dumbbell eye plus a big resin eye stick on.

Zonker Streamer

Zonker Streamer

Nothing new about the pattern, many have tie streamer with zonker material.
This pattern is to imitate a a little brown trout or rainbow.. targeting bigger fish which feed on little trout in the river.
You can play with Zonker in different colour to create different baitfish or minnow pattern

The hook that I'm using here is a very strong but heavy carbon steel hook .. to counter the weight of the hook, I have a brass bead tie just opposite of the hook, plus a bead chain eye... this will not give you the jigging action but more steady swing in the same water level..

Material List:
Rabbit Zonker
Bead chain eye
hook size 4
Brass bead
mono line
Pear UV dubbing

Step by step tying instruction:

Cut a rabbit zonker about 4cm, hook thru at about 1cm

Tie in the mono with brass bead at the end of the hook

Cover the bead with some Tan Zonker fur

 Tie in some UV dubbing

Cut some Zonker fur and tie down on both top and bottom

I also tie in some olive at the middle

Everytime after tying in the Tan Zonker fur at the bottom, I like to also tie in some UV dubbing

Repeat the stacking of Zonker fibers on top, bottom and middle

Repeat the stacking of Zonker fibers on top, bottom and middle

Repeat the stacking of Zonker fibers on top, bottom and middle

Tie in some pink Zonker fibers right after the bead chain eye

Stack more fibers on top to create a bulkier head

 Whip finished

play with some marker if you wish to make it more attractive
